Hellevad Watermill is situated in a lush green stretch of meadows and forest along the stream that fed the watermill. The stream is home to trout and grayling. Both the odder and the gray heron look for food here. Buzzards cleave the sky above on the lookout for rodents and amphibians. Ornithologists and other nature lovers will find plenty of wildlife in the area. Swallows have for centuries been part of farm life and their short sharp tweets are the embodiment of life on a farm.
Organic farms have a rich flora and fauna which is further enhanced by the different biotopes in our vicinity. There is a lot to see and learn from exploring the banks with a net and a bucket. Small trails crisscross the area so there is easy access to most of the land.
Several “Geo-catches” posts have been placed in the area if that is of interest.
We hope you will embrace our wonderful nature be it from a lounger or through jogging.
